We love this place! Their food is consistently good and we haven't ever had a bad experience. They do a really good happy hour deal on appetizers. Not a huge drink list because they must not have a liquor license, but that's fine since I'm not a huge drinker anyway. We love their butter chicken, saag paneer and the naan. This place gets kind of packed as it's pretty small, but they also do pickup which is great if you're in the area.
My friend was craving Indian food yesterday. She'd lived in India for more than a year, but since became gluten free and vegan due to serious food allergies. I chose Spice Kraft for take-out because it clearly labeled its menu: I could be 100% confident that my friend would be eating food that would be safe. She loved the vegan chettinad and she was overjoyed to have GF, vegan naan--it's really hard to find this offering at most restaurants! She had enough leftovers for a second meal too. Really grateful to Spice Kraft for accommodating special diets and serving up fantastic food!
Ordered take out. The food was great, but the service wasn't the best. It was a holiday so I understand there were a lot of to go orders, but after showing up on time I waited among the crowd of takeout orderers and it took 10-15 min to give them my name. Then they didn't see my order in the system. They then said it would be 15 minutes , and about 17 minutes later brought out the bag. It's a good thing I realized it while walking outside, but they did forget to put one of my entrees in the bag. Luckily they had it made and just forgot to put it in. Will go back on a non-weekend day and try again, loved the butter chicken and the gluten free naan.
Spice Kraft Indian Bistro in Del Ray has quickly become our go-to spot for the best Happy Hour in Alexandria, VA, and for good reason. Their Happy Hour menu is a steal--all items priced at just $5 each! My spouse and I recently indulged in a delightful feast by sampling several dishes. The BHEL PURI was a burst of flavors and textures with puffed rice, onion, tomato, cilantro, and a medley of chutneys and nuts. The NAAN FLIGHT was a creative twist with tandoori naan accompanied by tikka sauce, dal makhani, and saag sauce. The CHICKEN TIKKA TACO was a fusion delight, combining paratha bread with flavorful chicken tikka and an array of toppings. Not to mention the SPICY CHICKEN, which packed a punch of South Indian spices. Despite ordering four dishes, the total bill only amounted to $20--an incredible value considering the generous portion sizes and quality of the food. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and left us pleasantly satisfied. The Happy Hour drinks were equally impressive, priced at just $5 each. The extensive drink menu offers everything from classic margaritas and mules to refreshing cosmos, plus beer and wine options. The value for both food and drinks during Happy Hour is unbeatable. Service at Spice Kraft is also worth mentioning. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Spice Kraft Indian Bistro is not just about great food and drinks; it's about the passion behind the cuisine. Operated by friends and family, they are dedicated to offering classic Indian dishes with a modern twist, alongside accommodating various dietary preferences. Whether you're craving authentic Indian flavors, creative cocktails, or just looking for a friendly neighborhood spot, Spice Kraft Indian Bistro delivers on all fronts. We can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu offerings!
Delicious. Ordered the mixed grill, which when split was a bit meager. Weirdly they only gave me one piece of goat, but it was well prepared. But for one it was quite good.
The place was small but the staff was so sweet and kept checking in on us the entire night! The food came out super quick too! I loved my chicken tikka masala. I also appreciated that they had gf naan bread!
Still fabulous but wanted to add in how much I appreciate that they continually experiment with new menu items. The chicken tikka masala pizza was super creative and I can't wait until they try to do a butter chicken version
Came to Spice Kraft to try out their excellent selection on their Happy Hour which includes BOGO wine, beer and wine margarita. $5 Bar food Bhel Puri, Naan Flight, Chicken Tikka Taco and Spicy Chicken. We prefer all but the Puri and it was all amazing especially for Happy Hour. The wife ordered the house salad which was fresh and tasty. I tried the lentil soup in a coconut base and added chicken. Staff was super attentive. Interesting that there was no background music but overall the experience was excellent.
This strip mall restaurant should be a local go-to for Indian food. The food was better than I would've expected from a restaurant in Colorado near the airport. It was good actually. Plus the servers were attentive and kind and the restaurant was clean.
